My School Year
About
My school year started in September 2022 and I have finished it now in June 2023. I have come a long way from learning math, science, ELA, writing, and much more. I have learned to make papers, videos, and many other things. I have learned to research and take notes, summarize articles, and even complete complex math problems. This school year has been one of my best school years because I have learned so many new things and I have new abilities. I have done hundreds of assignments and each and every one of them are different.

I agree that Merrill's documentation of each event is overdone but for a good reason. The reason is because if Merrill made the documentations underdone then nobody would want to read them. Merrill had few reasons to overdo the documentations but at least she didn’t make them bland. If I were Merrill then I would do what she did because it was a very smart move and it makes her book fun to read.

My First ELA Writing Assignment
This was my first real ELA and writing assignment and I have come a long way since then. The few sentences on the bottom are the instructions and the paragraph on the top is my work and there is a lot that I missed. For example, I missed the question "Is this part of the fun?" and I also barely wrote anything for a response to the questions. If I had this assignment now then I would turn the questions into a paper and make sure that I am including everything. This assignment went along with the book The Pushcart War and the book is very good and I had to read it to do the assignment properly. Looking back at this in June of 2023 I am noticing lots of things that I could have done a lot better.
My New ELA Writing Assignment
For this assignment my instructions were to write my opinion on what the advantages and disadvantages of learning about heavy topics are. My work was pretty much the opposite of my first ELA and writing assignment because for my first ELA and writing assignment I only wrote a paragraph for a few questions but for this assignment I wrote a 4 paragraph essay off of one simple opinion piece that could have been a single paragraph. I enjoy writing opinion based papers so when I saw this assignment I knew that I could do very good on it. This is one of my best assignments to this day because of how detailed I was and how fun it was to do the assignment.
When you are learning as a kid there are advantages and disadvantages about learning about heavy topics. One advantage is that you learn how to express your feelings because if you are learning about a tragic event in history then you could feel sad for the people that were hurt or killed during the event. While there are a few advantages of learning about heavy topics there are also a few disadvantages and one of them is that if you always learn about them then they would not be sad anymore and you would lose all of your emotion. I think that it is good to learn about heavy topics occasionally but it would be bad to only learn about them.
There are a few advantages of learning about heavy topics. The first one is that you will learn to show your emotions and it could help people feel better when you show emotion when they tell you about a sad story involving them. Another advantage of learning about heavy topics is the fact that you will know how to imagine yourself in a terrible situation that happened to someone else and you can know how they would feel. In my opinion it feels very good when you tell someone about something that happened to you and they are sad for you.
As well as there being a few advantages to learning about heavy topics there are a few disadvantages that come with it. The first disadvantage is that if you learn too much about them and if you only learn about them then you could lose your emotion for everything. Another disadvantage about learning about heavy topics is that you could get too emotional and not be able to even do anything. To me heavy topics are very sad when I read about them but I have never cried because of them.
If you learn about heavy topics then I have 1 disadvantage and 1 advantage about learning about them. The advantage about learning about heavy topics is that you will learn how to show emotion and it could be warming for other people. One disadvantage is that if you learn only about heavy topics then you will eventually never show or feel any emotion. Overall I think that it is good to learn about heavy topics occasionally but you need to learn about other topics as well.
